Posted: 23 July 2008
The board of The Pensions Archive Trust is very pleased to announce that Michael Pomery MA FIA CVO has accepted its invitation to become its President in succession to the late Alastair Ross Goobey.
Michael is a leading pensions actuary. He was President of the Institute of Actuaries 2004 – 2006 and previously had been Chairman of the UK Actuarial Profession's Pension Board. He retired as a senior consultant from Hewitt in 2006, forty years after joining Bacon & Woodrow. In January 2006 he gave a lecture at Merrill Lynch's King Edward's Hall in support of the Pensions Archive when he looked back over the previous forty years and the lessons which could be learned from the pension experiences of that period. Alan Herbert, Chairman of The Pensions Archive Trust, said: "We are delighted that Michael has accepted our invitation to become the Trust's President. His knowledge of and experience in pension matters will be of considerable benefit to the Trust as we develop the Pensions Archive and its collections." Michael Pomery commented: "The Pensions Archive Trust fulfils a valuable role in preserving past and current documents about UK occupational pensions on behalf of future generations. I am proud and honoured to become the Trust's President at this important stage in its development." |
